Lauren Bennett, LMFAO Collaborator, Passes Away at 37

Party Rock Anthem singer Lauren Bennett - Lauren Bennett, a British artist who contributed her vocals to LMFAO’s 2011 chart-topping track "Party Rock Anthem," has passed away at the age of 37. The news was shared by her former collective G.R.L. on its Instagram page earlier this week. The group expressed profound grief, stating, “We share this news with heavy hearts, mourning the loss of our cherished Lauren.”

Bennett’s voice was a key element in the global smash "Party Rock Anthem," which secured the fifth position on Billboard’s list of all-time most successful songs. The track dominated the Hot 100 chart for six weeks in 2011. Her role in the music video, which has amassed over 2.5 billion views on YouTube, further cemented her presence in pop culture.

Founding G.R.L. and Musical Journey

Bennett joined the pop ensemble G.R.L. in 2014, which was formed as a revival of The Pussycat Dolls. The group included singers Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle, and Emmalyn Estrada. Their debut single "Ugly Heart" became their most widely recognized release, while they also lent their talents to Pitbull’s "Wild Wild Love" that same year.

Tragically, G.R.L. dissolved in 2015 following the suicide of Simone Battle. Bennett continued her career independently, contributing to film soundtracks such as "Date Night" and "21 Jump Street." Her work with Paradiso Girls, a European offshoot of The Pussycat Dolls, also showcased her versatility as an artist.

"RIP Lauren my sister my best friend I can't believe you left us. We spoke a week before it all happened and I could not imagine that would be the last time I would be able to talk to you. Love you and miss you forever."

Former bandmate Aria Crescendo honored Bennett’s legacy with a heartfelt message on Instagram. The statement from G.R.L. added, “Her radiant spirit left an indelible mark on countless lives, and she will be cherished for eternity.” The cause of Bennett’s death remains undisclosed, with her representatives yet to comment on the BBC’s inquiry.
