Woman 19 dies after gunshots heard - A 19-year-old woman lost her life in a shooting at a residence in north London, according to the Metropolitan Police. The incident occurred in Dale Grove, Finchley, shortly after 12:00 AM on Monday, prompting an urgent response from emergency services.

London Ambulance Service officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they confirmed the victim’s death, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation. Her family has been notified and is receiving support from specialized police personnel.

No arrests have been made yet, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the shooting. The community is reeling from the event, with residents expressing deep shock and sadness.

"I’m really shocked to hear the news. It’s quite sad," said Geraldine Haren, a nearby resident. "It’s a very family-friendly area. We get on with each other. We have a community garden. It’s such a quiet area. I just feel a bit sick. I feel for the family."

"It’s a bit out of character for this neighbourhood, to be honest," added Faz Saj, 37, who returned home with his wife and children to find the road closed off. "I’m still shocked, to be honest with you."

Det Ch Insp Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, expressed solidarity with the family. "Our thoughts are with the young woman’s family at this incredibly difficult time as they begin to come to terms with their loss," he stated. "We understand the concern this incident will cause within the community. Residents can expect an increased police presence over the coming days, and I encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers."
