Judge’s Remarks on Victim Impact

Christopher Morgan, the judge who oversaw the initial 2023 trial, characterized Bear’s recent activity as deliberately calculated to damage Harrison’s reputation. “You knew all of that was untrue, and yet you posted it,” Morgan told the reality television personality. “You left Miss Harrison, I’m afraid, at the mercy of any individual who had aligned themselves with your lies.”

The presiding judge further explained that Bear’s behavior during this period constituted victim-blaming. “What you did in that three to four-month period is simply victim-blaming,” Morgan stated while addressing the defendant directly.

“I shut him out of my mind for a long time and it’s not fair that he’s managed to crawl his way back in,” Harrison wrote in her court statement.

In addition to the incarceration term, Morgan expanded the protective order to encompass Harrison’s mother and a close friend. This extended restriction will remain active until a fresh order is established by the court.

Harrison’s Statement Describes Fear and Anxiety

Although Harrison did not appear at the hearing, prosecutors presented her written account describing how Bear’s continued online activity left her feeling vulnerable and terrified. She explained that the ongoing stress caused her to worry about her unborn baby and led to emotional breakdowns on several occasions.

“The order was imposed when Bear was jailed in 2023 after he filmed and shared a video of the pair having sex on OnlyFans and WhatsApp without Harrison’s knowledge,” the court heard.

Harrison’s statement emphasized that she felt isolated and exposed, requesting that the protective measures be strengthened. She noted that she had previously kept Bear out of her thoughts but found his persistent online presence intrusive and frightening.

Court Proceedings and Bear’s Response

Bear arrived at the courthouse accompanied by his wife, who is currently eight months pregnant. When approached by reporters, he declined to respond to questions but offered a thumbs-up gesture and remarked, “Wish me luck guys. See you soon, hopefully.”

During his attorney’s presentation arguing for a lighter penalty, Bear was observed wiping away tears briefly. As he was escorted from the courtroom to begin his new sentence, he shook his head in response to something said to him.

The court learned that Bear had been released earlier this year after completing half of his original prison term. However, he subsequently admitted to the harassment charge related to the restraining order violation during a hearing in June.

Miami Senior crown prosecutor Andrew Young argued that Bear exploited his social media channels to intensify harassment and motivate other users to direct hostility toward Harrison. The Crown Prosecution Service noted that Bear attempted to undermine his previous convictions by claiming that Harrison and her mother had conspired to interfere with the course of justice.

Additionally, Bear launched an online petition requesting public backing for a retrial of his case. Young emphasized the broader significance of the matter: “No woman should be made to live in fear because someone refuses to accept the restrictions placed on them by a court.”

“They treated this as the serious crime it is – not a celebrity story. It is a real offence against a real person,” Harrison said in her statement released through Essex Police.

In a separate statement following the sentencing, Harrison expressed appreciation for Essex Police, noting that the force recognized her situation when many women in similar circumstances are ignored. She praised their thorough approach to building the case and their prompt action when the order was violated.

“If every force treated this the way Essex Police did, thousands of women would feel safer today,” Harrison concluded.
