Police Identify Man Wanted in Wife and Daughters’ Murders
Police name man wanted over murders – Authorities have shared a CCTV clip of a suspect linked to the deaths of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters Nala, 5, and Natalie, 15. The bodies were discovered after police entered a residence in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, following reports the family had vanished for days. The incident has sparked a nationwide search for Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, also known as Mark, who departed the UK via Heathrow Airport on a British passport on Saturday.
Suspect Fled to Zimbabwe
Det Insp Lee Martin confirmed Mark Tshuma is believed to be in Zimbabwe. “Criminal investigation knows no borders,” he urged, adding that the force is coordinating with domestic and international agencies to track him. “We are urgently working to locate and arrest him and ask him to surrender to local authorities.”
“Mark, unthinkable harm has been caused to those around you and this has left your relatives and friends utterly devastated. Please do the right thing, come forward and hand yourself in to local authorities.”
International Cooperation and Local Response
Zimbabwe’s police have not yet received official alerts from Interpol about Mark Thsuma’s potential presence in the country. A spokesperson noted they were aware of the case through media coverage and are monitoring for any sightings. Flowers were left outside the cordoned-off house, with a neighbor expressing grief: “We’re really sorry to lose her. She was such a gracious mother.”
School Tributes Highlight Victims’ Lives
Teachers at Pilgrims Pre-Prep School described Nala as a “ray of sunshine” with a “wonderful sense of humour” and an “inquisitive nature.” Meanwhile, Bedford Girls’ School highlighted Natalie’s talents as a dancer, musician, and athlete, calling her “bright and accomplished” and “fun-loving.” Both schools paid tribute to the girls, emphasizing their positive impact on others.
Neighbors Reflect on the Tragedy
Residents expressed shock that the tragedy occurred in a “nice and safe area.” Officers had entered the home on Monday after the family was missing for several days. Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy described it as “a deeply distressing incident” but noted no evidence of a broader threat to the public. Increased patrols are now in place to bolster security in the region.
Formal identification of the victims is pending. Anyone with details about the incident or sightings of suspicious activity near the area on Friday or Saturday is encouraged to contact Bedfordshire Police. The force remains focused on resolving the case swiftly.
