Taylor’s resume includes several landmark fixtures. In 2015, he refereed the EFL Cup final where Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0. Two years later, he oversaw another cup final victory for Arsenal, this time against Chelsea with the same scoreline. Remarkably, in 2020 he became the first official since 1901 to control two FA Cup finals, with Arsenal once again emerging victorious over Chelsea by 2-1.

His responsibilities extended beyond domestic competitions. Taylor managed the 2015 Community Shield and the 2018 Championship play-off final. He also received widespread acclaim for his handling of the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland, which was temporarily suspended when Christian Eriksen experienced a cardiac arrest on the pitch.

Even in a match like that, where there was actually no major mistakes in the game.”
