Ukrainian strikes kill six in Russia, acting governor says

Six Dead After Ukrainian Missiles Hit Belgorod Region

Ninoda.com – Overnight missile fire from Ukraine struck Russia’s Belgorod region, killing six people and wounding four, according to the area’s acting governor. Alexander Shuvaev confirmed the toll in a Monday post on Telegram, noting that a 14-year-old was among the injured.

The impact zone was the village of Koloskovo in the Valuysky district, situated close to the Ukrainian border. Shuvaev reported that a residential building caught fire and a vehicle was damaged. The wounded teenager was transported to hospital, while two additional casualties received on-site medical treatment.

Escalating Drone Campaigns

The Belgorod strikes landed just one night after what Moscow described as the most extensive Ukrainian aerial assault of the year. On Saturday evening, Kyiv launched roughly 822 drones toward Russian territory, with approximately 600 directed at Moscow. The capital’s regional governor characterized the barrage as

“one of the most massive drone attacks in recent memory.”

That Saturday-night wave claimed at least seven lives across Russia. Five victims were reported in the south-western Rostov region. In Belgorod, a woman was killed when a civilian bus was struck, and an 83-year-old man perished in a drone strike within the Moscow region.

Ukrainian forces have intensified deep-strike operations over recent weeks. A warehouse operated by Wildberries — widely described as Russia’s equivalent of Amazon — was also struck. Kyiv’s defence ministry stated that the latest blow rendered seven of the company’s ten largest logistics hubs

“disabled.”

Ukraine has repeatedly aimed at Wildberries installations since July.

Russian Counter-Strikes on Ukraine

On the same Saturday night, Russian missile and drone attacks killed at least seven Ukrainians and wounded more than 39. In the Zaporizhzhia region, a man and a woman were killed when a guided aerial bomb struck a private dwelling. Five further deaths were recorded in strikes elsewhere in the country.

Moscow claimed its Kyiv strikes were aimed at a FirePoint plant that manufactures components for Ukrainian Flamingo missiles, along with a factory producing drone parts. A book market in the capital’s Pochayna district was also hit, leaving scorched volumes scattered across the ground.

Ukraine’s state energy firm Naftogaz reported on Monday that Russian forces had struck its infrastructure 13 times over the preceding seven days.

Zelensky: 13 Regions Under Fire

President Volodymyr Zelensky said 13 Ukrainian regions faced attacks during the week, citing more than 1,550 Russian attack drones, nearly 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 62 missiles launched against the country.

Both governments continue to blame one another for civilian casualties. Russia opened its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and now occupies roughly one-fifth of the country’s territory.
