Men who allegedly helped rapist drug – On Thursday, a group of men accused of collaborating with a rapist to drug and sexually abuse his wife appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court. This marks the first time their identities have been disclosed following the removal of reporting restrictions. The husband, whose name remains undisclosed to protect his wife’s privacy, initially denied all allegations but has since accepted guilt on multiple charges, including rape. However, he will still face trial on additional accusations.

Co-Defendants and Their Roles

The case involves 13 other individuals alleged to have either sexually assaulted the victim or assisted in administering substances to render her unconscious. Among them is Keith Fotheringham, 59, from Dundee, Scotland, who has confessed to all charges, including conspiracy to commit rape and conspiracy to supply a drug with intent. Other defendants range in age from 28 to 73, including Jonathan Kirk, a paramedic who was photographed shaking hands with Prince Harry in 2013, and Karl Lindsay, the former chief executive of Taunton Town Football Club.

“The club has no ongoing association with Lindsay and expects the highest standards of conduct from all those connected to it,” stated the Taunton Town Football Club in a release today.

Jonathan Kirk, 43, and Graham Brougham, 73, from Northwich, Cheshire, are also part of the 14 defendants. The husband, in his 60s and based in Stockport, admitted to sharing intimate images or videos of his wife without her consent for personal pleasure. He denies 11 rape charges, two attempted rape counts, and several other allegations involving assault and conspiracy.

Defendants Listed

The accused include: Philip Wild, 58, from Stockport; Sean Peers, 37, from Stockport; Jordan Wallace, 31, from Manchester; Alan Keelan, 42, from Manchester; Robert Stewart, 70, from Stockport; Mohammed Sabir, 28, with no fixed address; and Richard Townsend, 37, from Rochdale. Notably, Karl Lindsay, 55, from Taunton, Somerset, and Daniel Rayner, 42, from Whitstable, Kent, as well as David Graves, 59, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, are accused of conspiring to abuse the victim in non-contact ways.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 24 August, just a week before the 12-week trial, which will begin in September. The case continues to unfold as more details emerge about the alleged abuse spanning from 2004 to 2025.
